Objective

Avani+ Fujairah Resort is positioned as the new place to see and be seen on the east coast of the UAE — an upscale, barefoot-chic destination that is contemporary in design and unpretentious in atmosphere. The property targets the next generation of travellers, the young jet-set from home and abroad, with an atmosphere that caters equally to young couples and families.

Creative Dialog was appointed to develop a wayfinding system that matched this register: refined without being formal, present without being prominent, robust enough for the resort's full operational footprint, and visually complementary to the destination offer rather than competing with it.

Our Approach

Creative Dialog approached the brief as a material discipline exercise and a design coherence study — letting the resort's own visual language dictate the wayfinding response. The goal was a system that complements the destination offer rather than asserting itself against it.

_We drew direct inspiration from the resort's refined material palette and the architectural vernacular of the property, ensuring the signage felt born of the place rather than imported into it.

_We adopted a neutral, monochromatic colour palette that worked complementarily with the destination's design, allowing the architecture and landscape to remain the visual lead.

_We picked up the monolithic theme seen across the site through the scale and form of the exterior signage, reinforcing the resort's strong architectural identity rather than overlaying a separate signage character.

_We developed an exterior scheme that uses robust materials and the minimum number of signs possible to facilitate a positive visitor journey without over-cluttering the resort grounds.

_We extended the interior scheme around minimalism with pattern highlights, reducing the material palette to the bare minimum and inlaying or embedding signage elements into the interior design for a noticeable sense of cohesion and harmony across the spaces.

_We delivered the resulting system as a fully documented kit of parts ready for fabrication and on-site implementation.

The Outcome

The completed system delivers a wayfinding experience that feels integral to the resort's design intent rather than applied over the top of it — supporting the property's barefoot chic positioning with the same quiet precision that defines the wider hospitality experience. The fewest signs possible, the right materials, the right scale: a system you barely register, until you need it.
