YAS ISLAND PLACEMAKING ABU DHABI
REIMAGINING ABU DHABI'S PREMIERE TOURIST & ENTERTAINMENT DESTINATION.

Yas Island is Abu Dhabi’s premiere leisure destination with a large footprint and multi faceted destination offer. After careful consideration the client appointed Creative Dialog to develop a complete site wide placemaking approach that would connect Yas Island and everything it has to offer as a whole to the audience in a meaningful way as opposed to a disparate collection of individual assets.

This project saw us re-imagine the public realm of Yas Island to provide greater levels of convenience and comfort through a series on planned placemaking interventions and attractions ensuring that visitors are suitably welcomed, engaged and inspired to return, as well as creating an enhanced visitor journey as they explore Yas.

This included the planning of enhanced site wide mobility and attractions, along with a new and exciting points of interest across the island that were both cultural and revenue generating opportunities. This exercise also saw us re-configuring green spaces and pedestrianizing several key zones and developing an entirely new master-plan for the Yas Family Park.

A key element of this approach was to also ensure that each of the visitor touch-points across Yas island were clearly defined and enhanced to provide a cohesive look and feel as well as greater levels of engagement with visitors, along with improved levels of amenity, shade and connectivity.
