A REFINED WAYFINDING APPROACH FOR FUJAIRAH'S NEWEST LUXURY RESORT.

The new place to see and been seen on the east coast of the UAE. This is an upscale, barefoot chic resort that is contemporary in design and unpretentious in atmosphere. With a positioning that leans towards the next generation of travelers; home to the young jet-set both from home and abroad. An atmosphere that caters to young couples and families alike.

For our wayfinding design approach for the exteriors, we were directly inspired by the destinations’ refined material palette and makes reference to the architectural vernacular of the resort as well as the overarching context of the surrounding area. The design intent was to deliver a light touch look and feel with the least number of materials being used as possible. Visually, the approach was to utilize a neutral, monochromatic color palette and to be as complimentary as possible to the destination offer while the scale and form of the signage picks up on the monolithic theme seen across the site.

Special care was taken to develop a scheme that adopts the strong use of robust materials and the deployment of the least number of signs possible to facilitate a positive visitor journey. For the interior signage scheme the focus was again on minimalism with pattern highlights. Our material palette was reduced to the bare minimum with the signage design to rely on fine details with various elements to be inlaid or embedded into the interior design to provide a noticeable sense of cohesion and harmony across the interior space providing an elevated sense of style.
